Rivendell Sanctuary, a 5 pursuits honors program, is a 16-month, higher-learning, biblical worldview program focused on preparing high school graduates to excel academically, spiritually, morally and socially in college and citizenship.
In our IN-COMM™ program, students learn with IN COMMunity and never change classes, classmates, or professors. Based on Christ’s model of apprenticeship, all incoming freshmen are placed in small learning communities of 25-30 students and joined by 2 exceptional faculty and a team of mentors, all of whom remain together for their entire Rivendell education. The close support and attention we provide each student is unrivaled. Rivendell students are apprenticed in the fundamentals of learning and living – a lost art – with the end goal of not simply becoming an honor student but rather a Student of Honor™.
Students are led through Rivendell’s Sequenced Modular Education™, a revolutionary curriculum whereby the liberal arts and sciences are studied one subject at a time in a sequence that follows the flow of the biblical narrative. Rivendell’s Sequenced Modular Curriculum™ exceeds the requirements for an Associate of Arts degree, fulfills the general education requirements at SDCC, and grants 64 credit hours of collegiate studies.
Upon completing the program and receiving an Associate of Arts Degree, students are qualified to matriculate to SDCC’s main campus or transfer to the college of their choice to complete their Bachelor’s degree. Students leave Rivendell prepared for excellence in college and life after college. The combination of Rivendell’s foundational degree followed by a vocational degree gives students a complete education and equips them for true success in life.
